Creative Human and Visual Designer based in Denver & New York.
The visuals arts has long been a source of inspiration, sustenance, and adventure for Candace Gilbert. As a young child she loved taking things apart and putting them back together again. So it’s no surprise that, driven by the curiosity about how design and code interact, that at the age of twelve she created her first website from scratch.
Only later as an adult designing for global retail giants (Columbia, Fox Racing, and Honest – just to name a few) did she come to understand the central role that design plays in scaling systems and sharing information effectively. Instead of just “making things pretty” her focus shifted to viewing creativity through the framework of problem solving and crafting universal languages.
Candace has gone on to become the founder of OtticoMedia.com, an award winning artist, and a highly sought after creative consultant. Her research focuses on the connections between tools, symbolism, communication and their impact on culture. She holds a BFA in graphic design from the Savannah College of Art & Design and is currently pursuing an MFA.
